Barbercon to Host Annual Barbering Festival in NYC This Summer

Barbercon, the premier global festival of the barbering community, has announced its annual decent on New York City on June 10 & 11, 2018 at the Knockdown Center in Queens. Launched in 2016 by Lee Resnick as the live networking event for Barbershopconnect, the first social site exclusively for barbers, Barbercon brings together thousands of high-profile and amateur barbers, cosmetologists, and brands from around the world.

Having sold out the last three years with attendees traveling in from across the US and internationally from Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain, Barbercon is doubling in size by expanding to two days and adding many new elements.

“There is a culture surrounding the craft of barbering that has really grown over the past several years,” says Resnick. “Barbershopconnect’s Instagram page has over a million followers now, and while we started Barbercon first and foremost as an educational opportunity for aspiring barbers to learn from the best in the business, we have seen it evolve into a lifestyle event with individuals and brands outside of the barbering space.”

Barbercon will be comprised of three stages for live haircutting tutorials and product demonstrations, education classes, an expanded indoor/outdoor Barbercon Marketplace, the prestigious Barbercon Awards and a barber-themed art gallery. The most exciting addition is the outdoor festival area that will feature artisanal food trucks, drinks, music, games, and an exclusive VIP Lounge with a private bar, comfortable lounge area, activations, gift bags and more.
