With three locations in Minnesota, Spalon Montage has made a name for itself as a premier full-service salon and spa offering Twin Cities' residents hair, skin, body and nail services in a comfortable atmosphere. "For more than 18 years we have worked hard to ensure that we provide our team with a flourishing environment and the highest level of education available in our industry in order to provide our clients with the finest services, products and surroundings," says owner Shelly Engelsma.

Spalon Montage's Edina location unveiled a multimillion dollar renovation in June that included an expansion of its space into a former restaurant. The new space now features three levels of hair services, multiple relaxation lounges, expanded spa rooms, a spa lounge with a fireplace and concierge, private pedicure stations and an expanded menu of services. The 15,000-square-foot space is decorated in warm browns and neutral colors and boasts an elegant, timeless ambience mixing contemporary design and old-world charm.

Engelsma considers education key to a successful salon and spa business. "Our clients know that we host industry-leading educators from all over the world, which keeps us current with trends and techniques," she says. She believes that educating clients is important, too, and does this by offering free classes every Friday night for clients. From Blow-Out Boot Camp and Essential Skincare for Teens to Holiday Style, clients can learn something new at every class.
