One of the most flattering questions a client can ask you is, "Will you do my wedding?" Most girls dream of this day since childhood; traditionally, it's one of the most important days in a woman's life.

I first met Alecia Moore, known to most of you as "Pink," when I worked with her on her first video, There You Go, in 2000. I vividly remember her saying to me during that shoot, "If and when I ever get married, you have to do my makeup." Well, Pink found the man, fell in love and proposed to him by flashing a sign reading "Will You Marry Me?" from the grandstand of a racetrack. That man is Carey Hart, the gorgeous, fully tattooed motocross champion and star of Inked and The Surreal Life.
Their courtship was as unconventional as Pink and Carey themselves, but their wedding was one of the most personal, beautiful events I have ever been to. It took place over three days, at the Four Seasons Resort in Costa Rica. I was lucky enough to not only do her makeup, but also attend as a guest.
For every evening, the couple had planned events for a close-knit group of people, including their families and closest friends. One of the many special touches that stood out at the reception was the way they designated the tables for their guests: Each of the 60 or so tables was marked with a card featuring the name of a city that represented a time in their lives during their courtship, and on the back of each card, Pink and Carey had written a detailed message about what that city had meant to them in their relationship. The two of them had literally dated all over the world, and their stories were so compelling to read that the guests were passing the cards back and forth and sharing the stories with each other. It was one of the most personal touches for a wedding that I have ever seen.
The beach ceremony was simple and elegant, as was the bride in a beautiful cream-colored Monique Lhuillier gown with a dramatic black sash. We chose a smokey brown eye rimmed in black, with very little on her sun-kissed skin except for a bit of blush with a sheen and a nude lip, glossed with just clear shine. Alberto Guzman, the hair stylist and my good friend, chose a soft, whimsical, curly look for her hair. Taking a cue from the wedding gown, he completed the effect with a simple black satin ribbon.
The couple had written their own vows, which brought the guests to tears, especially when Carey said to the bride, "I pledge my love to you here for the next 100 years, and then I will meet you back under this oak tree and pledge them again for another 100."
I wish I could be there. Congratulations, Pink and Carey!
