Broadway's HAIR and Bumble and bumble Are Throwing a "Cut-In"

Broadway musical HAIR and its official haircare sponsor, Bumble and bumble, are teaming up to stage a "cut-in" at the Bumble and bumble Uptown salon in Manhattan on Monday, May 24. Bumble and bumble stylists will be giving free haircuts from 12pm-4pm, with all hair trimmings being collected and sent to Matter of Trust, which will use the trimmings to create highly absorbent booms that will help contain the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Tickets for HAIR will be raffled off every hour, and cast members from the show will be at the salon to cheer on participants.

“The efforts of Matter of Trust are invaluable in improving the situation in the Gulf of Mexico and we are thrilled to be supporting this cause by doing what we do best—great hair!” says Peter Lichtenthal, president of Bumble and bumble. He also notes that Bumble and bumble will be donating all of their salons' hair cuttings throughout the week for this initiative.

Oskar Eustis, artistic director of The Public Theater, which stages the production of HAIR, is excited to help out as well. “HAIR can save the planet, and we’re proving it in the most literal way we can think of," he says. "This Tribe never ceases to inspire!”
