California Stylist Wins Sport Clips’ National Competition

Michella Lane of Riverside, CA, was selected as the winner of this year’s Sport Clips’ The Look national live competition in Las Vegas. She was among five finalists who competed at the company’s national conference, The Huddle, before an audience of 1,200 and a panel of judges that included Paul Mitchell’s Tommy Callahan and Julio Vegas, American Crew’s Ron Villanueva and Andis’ Ivan Zoot. Lane’s winning look was a textured cut created using a point-cutting method that eliminates harsh lines and a razor for added depth and movement. In addition to the $2,500 prize, new shears and a trophy, Lane’s hair design will be incorporated into Sport Clips’ training and displayed on a poster in its stores. Sport Clips, a franchise in men’s and boy’s haircare, boasts close to 700 locations and a team of more than 5,000 stylists.
