Capozzi & Co. Salon, an Aveda beauty spot on Long Island, will present its fifth annual Shear Runway Project on Sunday, July 7 at Emporium in Patchogue, NY. The competing stylists will create hair, clothing and make-up looks fitting the 2013 theme, Another ChaCha, creating an evening celebrating the Latin American culture. The goal of the event is to push stylists to try new techniques and experiment with the latest trends in friendly competition. Proceeds from the event will benefit America’s VetDogs, a non-profit organization that provides specially trained service and companion dogs for disabled veterans. The salon has partnered with the canine organization for several years, raising awareness of the need for these animals and fundraising thousands of dollars to fulfill them. —Jennifer Barnes
