Color Therapy

For this beautiful multidimensional color look, Goldwell International Guest Artist Dimitrios Tsioumas was inspired by fresh strawberries. "I looked at the different shapes and the multiple red shades you find in strawberries," says Tsioumas, color director at Mizu New York in Manhattan. "I also wanted to create a lot of the texture that you'd find in the surface of the fruit." Tsioumas, who used warm and cool tones from Goldwell's Topchic and Colorance haircolor lines, recommends toning down the intensity of the shades for a more wearable look for your everyday clients. —L.M.

Color of the Week

Models at Proenza Schouler's edgy surf-and-skate-inspired spring show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City walked the runway sporting punky hair streaked with aqua and violet that was created with Clairol Professional's new Jazzing semipermanent haircolor. The night prior to the show, lead stylist Didier Malige and his team painted on the haircolor—Jazzing Jet Grape, Icicle and Mood Indigo—at Frédéric Fekkai Salon in SoHo. The ammonia- and peroxide-free formula is designed to safely spice up colored, permed and relaxed hair by restoring luster, color and condition. The color lasts one to two shampoos if applied without heat, and up to eight washes when applied with heat. Jazzing is available in 18 shades, from subtle to dramatic, and the colors Icicle, Crème Soda and Toasted Chestnut can be used to blend gray and tone highlights.
