This Gender-Inclusive Skincare Line is Breaking Beauty Barriers

David Yi has spent years working towards inclusivity in the beauty industry. While he started out as a journalist for major pubs like like Vogue and GQ, he eventually launched his own media brand in 2016—Very Good Light—focused on all things beauty. On top of that, Yi became an author in June with his first book, Pretty Boys, which profiles individuals who have redefined beauty standards.

Now, Yi is continuing to break down beauty barriers with his very own gender-inclusive skincare line: Good Light Beauty. Built on the foundation and community Yi has formed with his media platform, Good Light Beauty is debuting with three hero products that focus on strengthening the skin's moisture barrier function to make your complexion healthier and "more robust," Yi said in an interview with Allure

Cosmic Dew Water Cleanser

Gentle enough for sensitive skin, the Cosmic Dew Water Cleanser does exactly what you want your cleanser to do: gives your skin a deep clean without stripping its moisture and natural oils.

Moon Glow Milky Toning Lotion

This creamy toner is formulated with anti-inflammatory ingredients, making it another must-have for those with sensitive skin. Plus, it's packed with skin-smoothing and exfoliating benefits. The star ingredient, however, is tremella fuciformis sporocarp extract, which pulls moisture to the skin and penetrates easier than hyaluronic acid.

We Come In Peace Probiotics Serum

The last product in Yi's debut product lineup is this serum, formulated with Bakuchiol, a plant-based, natural alternative to retinol, and lactococcus ferment lysate, a probiotic that restores the skin's balance.

"Gender shouldn't be dismissed. Gender identity is so important to people's lives," he continues. "For us, we are beyond the binary. This is for all—no matter who you are, no matter what your skin tone is, no matter what your gender identity is, how you identify—this is for you. Skin, at the end of the day, is skin. We should all feel like we belong," Yi told Allure

Good Light Beauty officially launches on March 17 and will be available here
