Dermalogica Honored For Its Commitment to Women and Girls Worldwide

This year, Dermalogica shone not just because of its products, but its philanthropic strides. Co-Founder of the brand Jane Wurwand was recently honored by the LA-based Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST), a nonprofit organization dedicated to both identifying and helping victims of trafficking worldwide and advocating against future movement.

At this year’s annual “From Slavery to Freedom Gala—Celebrating Women Helping Women, Innovation and Impact,” Wurwand, who not only helps head Dermalogica, but its philanthropic initiative FITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship), was presented with an award for her company’s dedication to the advancement of women and girls worldwide. Held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, the event also featured other 2014 honorees, including Mayor Eric Garcetti and First Lady Amy Elaine Wakeland; Nena Ruiz, trafficking survivor and anti-slavery advocate; and Chime for Change, global movement founded by Gucci.

Since its launch in 2011, Dermalogica's FITE has worked tirelessly to support women’s financial independence and economic empowerment. In just three years, the global nonprofit has helped start and grow more than 40,000 women-owned businesses around the world, and today, that number only continues to increase.
