Editors Blog: Behind-the-Scenes of the OSiS+ Men’s Campaign

My name is Kamala and I'm the West Coast Editor for American Salon Magazine. Join me for a series of fun and exciting beauty adventures out here in sunny Southern California!

A few weeks ago I was invited to the set of the OSiS+ Men’s Campaign shoot featuring Schwarzkopf Professional Brand Ambassador Matty Conrad as the star of their new photo and video ads. Matty is the founder of Victory Barber & Brand and hails from British Columbia, where he started out as a hairstylist in top Canadian salons. The shoot was a lot of fun and depicted Matty as a disheveled-looking guy who magically transforms into a suave Ron Burgundy-type character after using the Barber in a Box products and the series of adventures that ensue as a result. Matty helped design the Barber in a Box package, which includes a replica of his apron that people on Instagram are obsessed with and are always asking him about, along with the OSiS+ Flexwax and OSiS+ Thrill–both are great for adding a bit of shape and style to men’s hair. As I watched over the director’s shoulder, I was also shown snapshots from the two previous shoot days that took place in Malibu and on a studio lot with a fake subway. Matty told me this was his first time doing this kind of video promotion and he was honored to be a part of it, not to mention being the face on camera–not the one behind it. I was given a preview of the images from the shoot and they are stunning! The videos are scheduled to be released sometime in early July so you’ll get the chance to see Matty in action on the big screen very soon. Check out the clip below to hear Matty introduce the OSiS+ Barber in a Box promotion and look at the images to get a sneak peek at the shoot!
