Empire Beauty Schools Hold Fundraiser for Domestic Violence Awareness

In support of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Empire Beauty Schools will host its annual National Day of Beauty, a fundraising event to support victims of domestic abuse on a local level, this Saturday, October 9th. Empire’s 100 beauty schools will offer haircuts, coloring, nail services and more to customers throughout the day, and all proceeds will go to domestic violence shelters in each school’s community. In addition to discounted student salon prices, empire beauty students are also selling $5 service cards that can be redeemed at the event. Jeanine Pirro, host of Judge Jeanine Pirro and a member of the National Domestic Violence Hotline’s celebrity advisory board, will help Empire raise awareness for its fundraising event. “Beyond fundraising and local shelter support, we have incorporated an educational platform into the Empire curriculum to train our students how to recognize the signs of domestic abuse,” says Franklin K. Schoeneman, CEO of Empire Education Group. Empire schools regularly support abuse shelter residents with salon services, educational endowments and fundraisers. Empire has raised more than $250,000 for aid in the fight against domestic violence to date. —Ivy Tan
