Costello Tagliapietra’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection was filled with jewel tone colors and sheen fabrics that were feminine, yet structured. Julie Kandalec for essie created a metallic blue nail look to complement the pieces by layering two coats of aruba blue, which created a flash on the runway.

Runway inspiration: Michelle Saunders for essie was inspired by the 1940’s feel of Diane von Furstenberg’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. To complement the vintage-inspired pieces, she created a modern take on a classic moon manicure by using sheer shades sugar daddy and waltz.

Runway inspiration: Michelle Saunders for essie created a “purposely undone” negative space nail design to  pair with DKNY’s sharp, youthful Fall/Winter 2015 collection. The combination of shine from ridge filling base coat and matte effect from all eyes on nude resulted in an imperfect, obscure look.

Runway inspiration: Michelle Saunders for essie created two elegant nail looks to complement the dove grey palette found throughout Carolina Herrera’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. forever yummy perfectly matched the red in the fabrics, and the sheen combination of imported bubbly and allure glistened on the runway.

Rebecca Minkoff 

Rebecca Minkoff drew inspiration for her Fall/Winter 2015 collection from Patti Smith and her memoir “Just Kids,” which depicts life in bohemian New York City in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. To complement the designs, which were heavily influenced by Smith’s effortless rock ‘n’ roll style, Michelle Saunders for essie created an edgy chevron nail.

1.  Apply one coat of first base coat to clean, filed nails

2.  Next, apply one coat of mademoiselle

3.  To create the zigzag design, create a reverse V-shaped line on the middle of each nail using one coat of berry naughty

4.  Then, create the same reverse V-shaped line on the tip of each nail using one coat of midnight cami

5. Finish with good to go topcoat

Expert tip: The width of the polish brush will create perfectly proportioned lines for this look

Jenny Packham 

Runway inspiration: to complement the embellishments found throughout Jenny Packham’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, Michelle Saunders for essie created a glamorous “dew drop” look. The combination of creamy orange and sparkling bronze drew attention to the nails on the runway.

2. Next, apply two coats of adore-a-ball

3. To create dewdrops, apply a sporadic dot of tarte deco followed by a smaller dot of summit of style on top to each nail

4. Then, apply a sporadic dot of just summit of style to each nail

5. Finish with second shine around

Naeem Khan 

Runway inspiration: To pair with the glamorous vibe of Naeem Khan’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, Julie Kandalec for essie created a distressed gold nail look by layering shifting power and jiggle hi, jiggle low. The champagne hue perfectly complemented the embellished gowns on the runway.

To pair with the “posh rebel girls club” vibe of Nanette Lepore’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, Michelle Saunders for essie created a customized “rock at the top” nail look by layering the glitter shade in between for the twill of it and shifting power. The burnished color perfectly matched the metallic gold shoes.
