Goldwell announces the 2014 Color Zoom Challenge U.S. semifinalists.
The Goldwell Hair Color team recently announced the U.S. semifinalists for its 2014 Color Zoom Challenge. For their submissions, beauty pros were tasked to interpret Reallusion—this year’s trend and color collection, where reality meets illusion with unexpected color combinations and captivating hidden details—for a chance to be crowned this year’s Color Zoom Global Creative Colorist, Global New Talent Colorist and Global Partner Colorist.
A prestigious panel of judges—whose ranks included Goldwell Vice President of Education Sandra Humphries, American Salon Editor in Chief Kelley Donahue and Goldwell Artistic Director and Global Master Dimitrios Tsioumas, among others— was on-hand in June at The Standard, High Line Hotel in New York City’s Meatpacking District to review the entries. After careful consideration, the judges selected five standout colorists in each of the three categories. Semifinalists taking home top honors were: Vivian Polimeni, Harley Lobasso and Lauren Kocman (Hair by Scott & Co., FL), Colette Jones (GiddyUp Salon & Spa, WA), and Erica Keelen (Cortello Hair Salon, FL) in the Creative Colorist category; Johnny Kelly (Sivana Salon, NY), Celeste Johnson and Katie Minalga (Theory Hair Salon, MT), Jacob Khan (Shearious Hair Salon, GA), and Krystyna Kluntz (Gallery Salon, CT) in the New Talent category; and Guy Auclair (Eau Clair Hair Care, ME), Daniel Rubin (Dennis Bartolomei, IL), Rosa Hawkins (Di Rosa Haircare, NY), Holly King (Theory Hair Salon, MT), and Lee Bryan Trevino (Cortello Hair Salon, FL) in the Global Partner Colorist category.
Following the latest round of judging, Color Zoom Challenge U.S. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be selected from all three categories. Gold winners will be invited to participate in the Color Zoom 2014 International Competition, a live event in Berlin this October that will allow national finalists from around the world to showcase their talent and compete for Bronze, Silver and Gold medals in the coveted Global Creative Colorist, Global New Talent Colorist and Global Partner Colorist categories.
