Fourth Annual WellaCares Charity Challenge Kicks Off March 1st

Wella, the salon professional division of P&G, is proud to announce the kick-off of the 2016 WellaCares Challenge. Through an online competition, a total of $15,000 in grants will be awarded to hairdressers and salon owners who demonstrate compelling dedication to community outreach programs. Since 2013, Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart has awarded a total of $116,000 in grants to salons whose fundraising efforts support causes such as heart disease research, domestic abuse shelters and autism awareness.

This year’s prizes range from $7,500 to $2,500 and will help winners put on fundraisers, mount cut-a-thons or benefit a charity in their local communities. Salon owners and hairdressers will be eligible to submit video or essay entries through www.hairdressersatheart.com starting March 1st, 2016 through April 30th, 2016. The public voting period takes place May 16th, 2016 to May 27th, 2016. Winners will be announced in June 2016.

The WellaCares Challenge is part of Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart program, which aims to enrich the careers of hairdressers through access to scholarships, funding for local outreach, and quality mentorship programs.
