Frédéric makes the starlets shine at a pre-Oscar beauty bash held in his Beverly Hills Salon

Everyone who's anyone in the entertainment world wants to look their very best, especially when the biggest awards show of the year rolls into town. It was Oscar week in Tinseltown, which is precisely why I partnered with Chanel and rolled out the red carpet once again at my namesake Rodeo Drive salon and spa, inviting Hollywood luminaries to drop by and try an array of luxurious beauty offerings and experience the very best in pampering. With top stylists and estheticians on hand, our guests knew they could feel 100 percent confident that they would be getting the best beauty had to offer them.

In addition to members of the press and media, many Hollywood A-listers, including Best Supporting Actress nominee Sophie Okonedo, Golden Globe Best Actress nominee Emmy Rossum, Desperate Housewives' Nicollette Sheridan, Ray's Kerry Washington, Third Watch's Kim Raver, and Pirates of the Caribbean's Keira Knightley, jumped at the chance to escape from their hectic schedules and attend our intimate beauty retreat. This year, the lineup of luxurious services ran the gamut from hairstyling, blowouts and deep-conditioning treatments to micro-dermabrasion, Intense Pulsed Laser Light Photofacials, eyelash tinting and eyebrow shaping, to deluxe manicures, pedicures and makeup applications. In addition, guests enjoyed Gran Centenario cocktails, Champagne Perrier Jouët, Jana Water, healthy snacks and energizing smoothies, compliments of the salon/spa's restaurant, Café 440. With all the offerings, some of them ended up staying for hours, enjoying the company, the food and the excitement.

Although the staff has to work extra hard because we still keep our doors open for our regular clients, whom we feel are just as important as any VIP or celebrity, hosting an event of this nature is a tremendous boon to the salon. Why? Because it allows so many wonderful people to come in and experience the luxurious services that we provide first-hand. It also increases the staff and salon's visibility and provides us with an invaluable way in which to interact with the press, who are already covering one of the most-coveted awards shows. It's a beautiful way to build buzz—and business!
