Goldwell Education Expands Master Class Offerings With New Course

This summer, stylists will be able to discover their inner cutting and styling expertise with a new advanced program from leading haircare and color brand Goldwell. Already renowned for its Master Colorist series, the brand announced today that it will be expanding its offerings by introducing a new Master Stylist program that consists of a series of classes focusing exclusively on cutting and styling. The comprehensive, four-part series will join the list of Goldwell Academy programs in both New York and Santa Monica. Designed for stylists of all levels, the program will help new stylists build confidence and will allow lead stylists with years of experience to elevate their skills. The launch of each class in the program will be staggered, ensuring stylists have the time to hone their skills at each level before moving to the next.

Debuting this June, the first course will be Master Stylist Essentials Shapes, covering everything from the fundamentals of cutting hair to advanced techniques. Topics will include layering from the front and graduation from the back, as well as both wrap and tension drying techniques. Next, the Contemporary Shapes class launches in January 2017, and will cover disconnection in modern salon looks, seamlessly tying haircolor and styling to shape and design. Then, the Advanced Shapes course will promote the stylists’ skills to a new level, while the Collection Shapes class completes the program. Each class will be preceded by an exclusive preview in the New York Academy, led by Global Creative Ambassador of Cutting Jay Mahmood.

“Goldwell’s Master Colorist program has been a one of the most sought-after educational experiences for stylists all over the US for the past several years,” said Mahmood. “Now, we’ve created a comprehensive journey for cutting and styling that offers the same level of technical skill and style vision our stylists have come to expect from Goldwell classes. Too many stylists spend their careers cutting hair without a full understanding of what they are doing, or they simply fall into a routine of doing the same two to three haircuts over and over. With this course, we will provide stylists with the technical skills they need to create an incredible range of looks.”

The classes will be taught by a number of Goldwell National Artists and Academy Trainers, including Mark Holloway, Joshua Calderon, Daniel Rubin, Shawana Parvin, Jeffery Moffet, Tony Cola, Nicole Capicchioni, and Sara Anguiano. Participating stylists will be able to attend one of nine scheduled Academy classes; Master Stylist Essential Shapes three-day seminar will cost $1,100 or 35,483 Salon Alliance points. Stylists who attend the capstone Essential Shapes class will receive a certificate of completion, pin, notebook and a workbook.
