Great Clips Shaves Nonprofit's CEO's Head for Reaching Fundraising Goal

Great Clips stylist Juliana Lindsay shaved the head of President and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) John Lauck to follow through with a bet he made with his corporate staff last year. He promised to kiss his locks goodbye if his staff exceeded their 2013 fundraising goal of around $290 million--they surpassed their goal and raised a record-breaking $300 million.

"A shaved head is the least I can do to honor the hard work my team has put forth," Lauck said.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a nonprofit that helps 17 million kids each year with cancer, birth defects and pediatric aids; organ transplant patients and accident victims; and children living with chronic illnesses. Great Clips has been a supporter of CMNH, raising approximately $500,000 in 2012 by selling the Miracle Balloon, as well as hosting events like cut-a-thons and bake sales.
