HairUWear Announces 2nd Annual Great Lengths USA Challenge

HairUWear and Great Lengths are excited to announce that legendary front man for Aerosmith, Steven Tyler, will be joining the panel of judges for the 2nd Annual Great Lengths USA Challenge. “We’re thrilled!” says Brett Butcher, Great Length USA National Program Director. “If you think about it, Steven has probably had more celebrity influence over hair in recent years than anyone since Jennifer Aniston. He’s the reason why we saw so much color in hair during fashion week this year. Steven understands the importance of hair and how it relates to image. He has access to the very best of everything, and we are honored that he chooses Great Lengths.”

The “before and after” imagery contest is open to all Great Lengths USA Certified Stylists who will be competing in three categories: Fashionista (editorial/avant garde looks), Socialite (styles created for volume) and American Beauty (styles created for length).

Competitors will be able to register and upload their completed work from now until November 30th at www.greatlengthschallenge.com. After the deadline, Tyler and his fellow panel of esteemed judges, including Joel Warren of the Warren-Tricomi salons, celebrity stylist Kim Vo, celebrity stylist Ted Gibson and Great Lengths USA Creative Director Darren Brokaw will select their three favorite looks from each category. The nine semifinalists will be selected based on the judges’ scores and posted online for a public vote from December 15, 2011-January 31, 2012. The three finalists from those votes will then be flown to America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, where the grand-prize winner will be presented with a check for $10,000.
