IBS NY Makes International Headlines

The 100th installation of the International Beauty Show New York attracted worldwide attention Monday, March 13 when news agency Reuters stopped by to report on the latest beauty trends. Industry leader Nick Arrojo offered his take on one of the season’s biggest styles—wavy texture. "People are wearing their hair curly, they're wearing their hair natural," says Arrojo. "We used to live in a completely straight world. Now we're living in a world, where we're encouraging texture, movement and curl, and American Wave is the product that we're using." American Salon also detailed several top trends. "Those bright colors will continue to be a big, big trend this year," says Gordon Miller, publisher and vice president of American Salon. "Men's product - smaller category, but, you know, huge growth, and hair loss, in particular, is going to be very very important to watch. And, then, the third category, which is not a product, but a tool, and that's appliances. Appliances are becoming more sophisticated." Watch the video clip below for more.
