ICMAD Welcomes Chaz Dean as Keynote Speaker for Young Designer’s Competition

The Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) is proud to announce that the founder of WEN® Haircare products, Chaz Dean, will be the keynote speaker at the 2014-15 Young Designers Competition Dinner. Taking place on February 4, 2015, three winners will be announced and they will receive tours and meetings with executives from top cosmetic companies as well as a cash award. The first place winner will receive a $5,000 contract assignment to design a new line of bottles by the beauty packaging company, East Hill Industries, Inc.

As the founder of his patented, groundbreaking WEN® Haircare products, Chaz not only pushed beyond the boundaries of industry conventions, but revolutionized the way people care for their hair. He believes firmly in the integrity of what is nurturing, healthy and natural as the basis of achieving beauty.
WEN® was created from this belief, replacing the harsh chemicals and detergents in most other products with natural botanical ingredients to nourish and attain healthy hair and scalp. Chaz and WEN® have also been honored with awards such as Best Product Concept, Rising Star and Best Shampoo/Conditioner.

Created to foster creativity and encourage innovation, the Young Designers Competition requires students to create a unique primary and secondary packaging design for a cosmetic container. Founded in 1998, the competition highlights the importance of package design, a specialized and highly in-demand design form that combines esthetic beauty with functionality.
