James Pryce of Richard Ward Hair&Metrospa Styles Catherine Middleton’s hair for royal wedding

When Catherine Middleton wed Prince William this morning at at Westminster Abbey, she wore her hair in an elegant demi-chignon styled by James Pryce of Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa, a L'Oréal Professionnel salon that has been Middleton's favorite hair salon for the last eight years. Award-winning hairdresser Richard Ward, who is known for his signature innovative yet wearable couture hair, is at the forefront of British hairdressing, while Pryce has been in the hairdressing industry for over 15 years, working in salons such as Trevor Sorbie and Daniel Galvin. Pryce, who specializes in precision and designer cutting of both long and short hair, joined the Richard Ward team in 2006 and has worked on numerous editorial projects. Middleton's wedding-day updo style, which combines a classic bridal look with a regal, couture finish, was designed around her unique halo-style tiara, set just back from the hairline. According to Ward, the bride insisted on a natural look for her wedding day. “The only order she has given for her wedding day is that by the time she gets to the end of the altar her husband must recognize her,” Ward says. “How Kate wears her hair typifies how you should be wearing your hair today, it's a very natural look. It needs to gleam with health, it needs to shine, needs really deep, rich color.”
