Leo Passage Scholarship 2017 Accepting Applications

The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and Pivot Point International are pleased to introduce the Leo Passage Scholarship 2017.  Every year the Leo Passage Scholarship will sponsor a new competition – this year they are opening up the opportunity to students and the name of the scholarship is THE NEXTGEN PROJECT. The nationwide competition invites beauty school students from across the nation to experience what tomorrow’s beauty industry is all about.

Scholarship applicants will create a cohesive photo collection of inspired looks integrating hair, nails, makeup and fashion. A panel of judges will select four winners’ collections to be showcased on the runway during the Beauty Changes Lives Experience at America’s Beauty Show, March 25, 2017. Winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to Chicago March 22-27, 2017, and will collaborate with Pivot Point’s global creative team to present a runway collection and participate in a professional photo shoot.

During America’s Beauty Show THE NEXTGEN PROJECT winners will participate in an immersive adventure with some of the industry’s most creative and influential thought leaders. Over the course of six days and five nights, winners will enjoy Chicago’s rich and diverse culture, diving into the city’s celebrated art, music, architecture and food.

“THE NEXTGEN PROJECT celebrates the fusion of beauty and art while recognizing the dynamic collaboration that characterizes how product brands, fashion designers and beauty professionals work together to interpret beauty and style,” said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation.

The competition is generously funded by the Passage family who announced a $1M gift to support beauty education during Cosmoprof 2014. Pivot Point International CEO and Global Ambassador Robert Passage said the scholarship celebrates Pivot Point founder Leo Passage’s commitment to celebrating hairstyling as an art form, lifelong learning and unleashed creativity.

The funding will support a new competition annually. The inaugural scholarship in 2015 supported continuing education for beauty educators through an innovative “Creative Jam” experience in Chicago.  In 2016, the scholarship is focused on identifying next-gen talent. “The structure of the Leo Passage Scholarship program allows Beauty Changes Lives scholarships to support education that spans the beauty and wellness industry’s diverse career opportunities,” Lynch said.

The scholarship application deadline is Monday, August 1, 2016. Application details are available at www.beautychangeslives.org/scholarships.
