Luigi Bruni Salon

In every small town across America, there’s at least one salon that raises the bar for everyone else. Birmingham, MI (20,437) has Luigi Bruni Salon.

Spanning less than 5 miles in Michigan is the city of Birmingham, located halfway between Detroit and Pontiac in Oakland County. Despite having a small population, Birmingham is a prosperous urban area with many accolades—it was named one of the top five most successful walkable suburbs in the U.S. by The Wall Street Journal and one of the top 20 best places for a healthy retirement by CNNMoney.

Opened in 2005, Luigi Bruni Salon is the perfect fit for a small city with an affluent
feel—the 3,850-square-foot salon shares a building with the upscale Roma Sposa Bridal Salon, and is near some of downtown Birmingham’s hottest restaurants, says Haley Cassar, director of salon operations. The stylists offer cut and color services, custom-blend conditioning treatments, keratin treatments, extensions, nail services, makeup application, tweezing, and facial waxing.

The decor can best be described as “rough glamour,” according to Luigi Bruni, who owns the salon alongside Chris Jeannotte. “We have been told our salon is very chic, yet hip and urban looking, from our signature chandeliers around the salon to our exposed beams and brick, to the custom sparkle floor lacquer,” Bruni says.

He credits the team’s strong work ethic, style and drive for ongoing education for the salon’s success. “Our outstanding guest services, talent and style as a whole set us apart,” he adds. Bruni also says business continues to grow because of the positive energy and professionalism of the staff of 35.

The salon hosts events that appeal to different demographics like the annual Prom Preview fashion show for the younger set, in which the staff shares the most current prom fashions, and creates hair, nail and makeup looks in the salon. “Luigi Bruni Salon caters to an exceptional variety of clientele,” Bruni says. “Our talented team attracts guests craving the most recent and cutting-edge services.” ✂ —Corie Russell
