Marinello Schools of Beauty, a chain of West Coast beauty schools, raised $25,000 for Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Japan during a companywide cut-a-thon fundraiser held March 29 to April 2.
As part of the cut-a-thon, 45 Marinello campus locations offered $5 haircuts and sold $2 wristbands, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross. Marinello’s Burbank campus raised the most funds, giving 241 haircuts. Following in second place was Marinello’s Ontario campus and third place went to Marinello’s Layton, Utah school.
“With all our campuses joining together for the greater good, we are pleased Marinello can help quake victims in Japan,” said Dr. Nagui Elyas, President and COO of Marinello Schools of Beauty.
