Ruth Roche for Pureology shows how hair relates to fabric in the beautiful designs seen exclusively on these pages.

Similar to clothes, hair is an element of style that can be changed every day. In this American Salon exclusive, Pureology Artistic Ambassador Ruth Roche took this idea literally by translating different shapes and patterns of six various fabrics into hairstyles, including lace, tweed, tulle, herringbone, satin and ruffles. “This collection was inspired by fabrics and the comparison of hair to fabric,” Roche says. “Hair is to a stylist like fabric is to a clothing designer—fine and silky or thick and textured, the hair fiber is the fabric we work with to design beautiful styles. Add color and you get even more dimension and emotion.”
