Mercedes-Benz Fall ‘11 Fashion Week NYC: The Blonds

Kristina Estabrooks, lead nail artist, for Creative Nail Design (CND), described to American Salon the amazing details of the firebreathing "Mori and Moto" dragons that were created for The Blonds runway show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Designers Philippe and David renamed the dragons "Fee Fee and Bijou" which accompanied a model wearing a dragon bodysuit down the runway. Estabrooks described how the dragon "Fee Fee" worked down the index finger while "Bijou" would wrap up the arm.

Entirely handmade by CND, the feet were sculpted from liquid and powder and then polished with Blackjack, Scarlet Letter, Gold Chrome from CND's Colour and Effects line. Fee Fee and Bijou's eyes, nose, and movable head were adorned throughout with Swarovski crystals and encrusted with vintage glass.
