Mercedes-Benz Fall '11 Fashion Week NYC: Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham's fall 2011 presentation was held at an opulent brownstone on Manhattan's Upper East Side -- the same space featured  in the first Sex and the City movie as Carrie and Big's dream apartment. In contrast to the rich setting and clothing, Guido, lead stylist for Redken, went for a "minimalist modern" approach to the hair, wrapping it tightly around the head using Hardware 16 gel and then covering it with a black wig cap. "I wanted to create a very small head without referencing any time period," Guido said. "The look is a little couture and super chic. It's simple, but has a dramatic effect." Along with gelling the hair flat to the head, Guido created two small braids by each temple, which he pulled tight and tied in back to create an instant facelift. The wig cap, accessorized further with a black headband that went under the chin, helped the models to blend together and keep the focus on the clothes and face.

The makeup from Charlotte Tilbury for Lancome, was  described as "space aged" and "glowy." Tilbury kept the skin simple, using just foundation and a mixture of Eclat Miracle Illuminator and gold shadow to highlight the cheekbones, nose and chin.  Eyes were beautiful but bare, with shimmery neutral shadows from Lancome's new Taupe Craze palette and clear brow gel. No mascara or liners were used. The lips were coated with L'Absolu Rouge La Base, a revitalizing lip treatment, and a little concealer.

In keeping with the simplistic theme, the nails by Butter London were customized to match each models skin tone to create what Founding Creative Director Nonie Creme described as "mannequin hands."
