Mercedes-Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week NYC: Alexander Wang

Guido working his magic backstage.

At the fall 2012 Alexander Wang show the collection was all about texture, with leather and tweed taking the spotlight. Not to take away from the drama of the look, Guido Palau, lead hairstylist for Redken, chose to create hairstyles that were simplistic, but very precise. He envisioned perfect, long, straight locks using extensions when needed. To achieve the look, hair was cleaned with Redken’s Clear Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. Prior to drying, he applied Redken’s Satinwear O2 - Lotion to create the foundation for straightening the hair with a flat iron. While letting the front dry naturally he worked Redken’s Outshine 01 throughout the back and ends of the hair to enhance its texture. Finally, Guido placed hair behind the ears for beautiful and effortless look.On the runway supermodels Gisele Bundchen, Karolina Kurkova and Shalom Harlow rocked the look.

Just like the hair, Diane Kendal. Lead makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics, kept the look very simple, creating a sculpted almost androgynous look. Alexander Wang collaborated with Sally Hansen to create a color that would complement the collection-a very chic beige shade that the designer named Bandage.
