Entering the Mara Hoffman backstage makeup and hair room was exhilarating and the accompanying hair for the Mara Hoffman Fall 2012 Fashion Collection created by TIGI Creative Director Nick Irwin added some serious pow to the room.
The look, said Nick, was that of south American cowboys meet shamans resulting in a new age bob to coincide with Hoffman's bohemian nature. The hair was full of disheveled curls featuring a slight wave and delicate frizz. To get the look, Nick lightly sprayed the hair with TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Firm Hold Hairspray, then used a flat iron to curl sections of the hair that were then twisted and pinned to set, with the back section twisted into a full bun. After a period of time, mainly when the models got their makeup done, Nick unwound the pinned sections brushing them upwards to reveal gorgeous intense curls that naturally lifted up and out, while purposely keeping the top flat.
Make Up For Ever Alliance Artist Lottie drew from the 90s to create sun-kissed skin with metallic highlights. Lottie created the metallic highlights by applying shaded eyes with Make Up For Ever Metal Powder #2 to the corner of the eyes. The brows were structured, yet simple and stayed in shape with Make Up For Ever Brow Seal.
