Mercedes-Benz Fall 2014 Fashion Week: Pas de Calais

At the Pas de Calais Fall/Winter 2014 fashion show, designer Yukari Suda took a trip to the countryside with her rustic inspired designs. Lead hairstylist for Oribe Linh Nguyen created a twisted textured updo to complement the collection which included, layered cotton shirts, knits and wool coats in earthy tones. “The collection is full of natural materials. So I wanted to incorporate that organic feeling into the look,” Linh said.

First Linh prepped dry hair with Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray and layered  Oribe Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse from roots to ends to create separation.  After blow-drying he used his fingers to divide hair into three sections. Starting with the center section, he twisted hair to the left as if he was creating a French twist going down the head. He secured the twist at the nape of the neck with pins and repeated the step with a left side twist directed to the left, and a right side twist directed to the right. Linh then added more Maximista to the ends for a piecey separation and dabbed Surfcomber onto the twists for a wet look. To finalize the updo, he used his fingers to gently rough up hair all over.
