Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Week: Cushnie et Ochs

Cushnie et Ochs' Fall/Winter 2014 collection was inspired by Western Romanticism combined with city-slicking edge, and Moroccanoil’s Artistic Director Antonio Corral Calero created a hair design that fell right in line with this theme. The overall look was super sleek and modern: a smooth blowout with a deep side part and a little bounce to the ends. The key was to create an effortless hairstyle that was both simple and sophisticated, which resulted in an elegant look on the runway that could easily be replicated at home. The best part about this Western romance meets city edge style is that it can last up to two to three days.

To get the look, start by preparing the hair with Moroccanoil Treatment, using Treatment Light for blonde or fine hair. This treatment conditions, adds a natural reflective shine and creates the core effect of the style. Next, apply Root Boost mixed with Treatment directly at the roots and Volumizing Mousse throughout the rest of the hair to add body. After creating a deep side part, blow-dry one-inch vertical sections using a round brush. Roll the brush over the head downwards and pin. Then spray Luminous Hairspray Strong throughout the hair and allow it to cool. After releasing the set, brush the hair down the back and behind the ears. Apply Hydrating Styling Cream on the palm of your hand and gently pat it down on the surface of the hair to prevent fly-aways. Lightly brush to smooth the hair, and for a touch of subtle bounce, use 1¼-inch marcel curling iron on the ends. Finish by spraying Luminous Hairspray Strong to secure the whole look.

Makeup by Charlotte Tilbury for Mac Cosmetics at this show was inspired by cat eyeliner with juicy skin. The skin had a touch of foundation to even the skin tone, and makeup artists applied Crushed Cranberry lipstick on the cheekbones to get a soft and natural redness. The feline and dramatic eyeliner was created with Blacktrack Fluidline and Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline, and the lips contrasted the dark eyes with a natural look by a swipe of Lip Conditioner SPF 15.
