Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Week: Herve Leger

The classic ponytail got a makeover at the Herve Leger Fall/Winter 2014 show. Laurent Philippon for Bumble and bumble was inspired by equestrians of the future, and he created “cyber” ponies with a flashy pop of color in Azul Blue or Coral Red extensions. The ponytails were formed perfectly straight to achieve a sleek, sci-fi effect.

To achieve this look, start by loading the hair with Does It All, and then pull into a tight ponytail, using a fine toothcomb to ensure maximum sleekness. Using double-sided hair tape, secure a color extension strip along both sides of the hairline, just above the nape of the neck and pull through the ponytail. Finish with Spray de Mode to secure the look.

Temptu airbrush makeup system provided a flawless look for the models walking down the Herve Leger runway. Makeup artist Val Garland and her team used AIRPod Foundation to even the complexion and AIRPod Highlighter in Champagne for the cheeks. They created a modern winged eyeliner look using S/B Black, lining the top lid starting from the front, extending the line beyond the edge of the lid, then winging it back for an edgy, futuristic gaze.

To balance the eye-catching hair and makeup for this show, Julie Kandalec for essie created a matte, mauve nail. She applied Lady Like polish to clean, filed nails, then put on a layer of Good To Go Top Coat. She finished the look with Matte About You Top Coat, creating a lovely simple, clean nail color.
