To complement the flowing fabrics in Nicholas K’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, Aveda’s Jon Reyman put his own spin on a wig from It’s a Wig by cutting it into an uneven short 'do. “The haircut is asymmetrical because our clothes are very asymmetrical and drapey,” designer Nicholas Kunz told us after the show. “So he [Reyman] came up with this chopped-up bob that’s architectural, polished and sophisticated.”
For nails, Gerry Holford for Bondi New York used Hudson, a dark-blue matte color custom-made for the show, then tipped the talons with a glossy black. Makeup art by Avon featured a reverse cat eye with voluminous lower lashes. “It’s really just a modern, edgy twist on a classic cat eye,” says Lauren Andersen, Avon global celebrity makeup artist. “The bold, geometrically bottom-lined lashes were balanced with a more neutral lip.”
