Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 NYC: William Okpo

Aaron Grenia for Privé created stunning "whoville" creations for Darlene and Lizzy Okpo for their fashion label William Okpo for the fall/winter 2013  presentation collection as a part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The idea was to create texture to coincide with the clothes and add a serious level of funk that aligns with the Okpo design aesthetic.

To get the look, Grenia prepped the hair with Privé Finishing Texture Spray and crimped the entire head of hair. He then divided the hair into three sections securing each section with a band. Once secure, he teased the hair into balls while also incorporating the use of Privé Extended Texture Clay to help expand the hair that helps the tease and form the large poufs of hair.

Once in place, Grenia braided part of the hair to wind around the base of each ball to hold the style in place while adding more texture. For girls with shorter hair, Grenia and his team used extensions to get the look.

Janell Geason of Aveda was the lead makeup artist and created a not-to-be-missed face with the focus on an intense "Frida-meets-Brook Shields-brow". Each girl's brows were joined by light wisping marks of a brow stick to create a super textured look to represent the Okpo girl of ease and cool. On the eyes, Geason used either Ginger Root shadow or Gold Antique depending on the skin color. The lips were adorned with a combination of the two new Aveda spring lip colors Cana and Sheer Melochia Bloom.
