Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYC Fall ‘10: Behnaz Sarafpour

For the presentation of Behnaz Sarafpour's Fall 2010 Collection, Roxanne Valinoti for CND styled the nails. Below, watch a video of her describing the design.

As for the models' faces, the key makeup artist was Gordon Espinet for M.A.C. Cosmetics. "I took the lead from the clothes," Espinet said of his inspiration. "The word I think of is luxurious, so we wanted something that was sophisticated and beautiful." Focusing on the skin, Espinet used Prep and Prime Face Protect SPF 50 to eliminate redness and make skin appear satiny. The eyes featured many layers of Opulash Mascara and the lips were covered in Soothing Beige Lip Conditioner and Mocha Lipstick to complement the monochromatic look. "We are tailor fitting the makeup to suit the girl," Espinet explained. "When you look at her, you don't think makeup, you think, 'she is lovely!'"

The hair was designed by Ashley Javier for Kerastase and featured a small, messy knot on top of the models' heads. It's "very chic, very elegant, very bouncy," Javier said. Below the bun, the top portion of the hair was straightened, but the remainder was curly. To achieve the look, Javier used Kerastase Mousse, which gives the hair shine but doesn't make the hair feel like there is product in it. He finished the edgy look with Double Force hairspray.
