When David Cruz for Phyto first viewed Elise Overland's Fall 2010 collection, he saw it as "very strong, very powerful." To soften the overall look, he decided to create a loose chignon-like updo. The front of the hair had a bit of height, which Cruz describes as "almost like a man's hairdo from the 60s." The back was twisted up and tied into itself to create a knot "that looks like a bit of a twisted mess, but confined," Cruz said. He used Phytovolume Actif spray from root to tip at the beginning and Holding Spray to finish.
The makeup was created by Napoleon Perdis and featured a t-shape created with eyeshadow dusted below the brows near the nose. He used Colour Disc #13 Periwinkle and Prismatic Eye Shadow Quad #1 Lavender, along with China Doll Eyeliner Equinox. For the lips, Perdis said he aimed for "fresh and natural," so he used Luminous Lip Veil Cherchez La Femme.
