Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Patrik Ervell

The Patrik Ervell 2014 collection focused on the nautical look with sea-inspired prints, shades of blue, and techy fabrics. Oribe Hair Care’s lead hairstylist Holli smith wanted to emphasize the designers inspiration, creating a look similar to choppy waves in the deep sea. “We wanted to do something a little hard with an edge using gel so it looked wet. The look is a little bit '50s with the comb strokes that you can see in the hair. Every guy has a different haircut and face, so everybody is getting their own unique look," Smith said.

To create the hair, Smith saturated the hair with a good amount of Oribe Maximista, Oribe Gel Sérum or both depending how thick the hair is then used a paddle brush and a comb to create the wave-inspired ‘do. She played around with the shape to find a look that fit the particular model. To finish the look, Smith sprayed Oribe Superfine Strong for superior hold.
