Mercedes-Benz NYC Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009: Zang Toi fundraiser

Yesterday afternoon, I had the privilege of attending Zang Toi's annual benefit/fashion show for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, where celebrities and New York socialites came together for an afternoon of food, fashion and fundraising at the chic restaurant Daniel in New York City. Like the preview luncheon I attended last week, the gravity-defying hair was done by Eiji Yamane of Manhattan's Eiji Salon. After some mingling and bidding on silent auction items, guests were ushered into a separate room for a live auction (items ranged from a two-year lease on a Mercedes-Benz to a private ride with Lance Armstrong) and a fashion show of Zang Toi's full Spring/Summer 2008 collection, which was inspired by iconic New York City. One of the highlights for me was chatting with supermodel and actress Beverly Johnson, who told me about her work as national spokesperson for ask4tell4, a campaign to raise awareness about uterine fibroids and treatment options. When all was said and done, the Zang Toi event raised more than $250,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. For this blog, I've decided to let the pictures do the talking ...
