Mercedes-Benz Spring ‘10 Fashion Week: Zac Posen

At the Zac Posen show, a favorite among fashionistas, Odile Gilbert for L'Oréal Professionnel created a lively ballet-style bun that complemented Posen's 1960s Pop-inspired collection. “The look is a simple, yet graphic statement—pulled back from the face, intertwined with bold color to form a version of a chignon," Gilbert said. "I took cues from Zac’s collection which had a retro feel, but we added a modern edge."

To create the look, Gilbert prepped hair with L'Oréal Professionnel Texture Expert Expansion, a body-activating mousse, and Texture Expert Infinium #3. Stylists added long, brightly colored extensions (pink, blue, yellow, green and purple) and then pulled all the hair back into a high, tight ponytail. They then twisted the real hair with the extensions and pinned it all into a twisted chignon. Once the chignon was set, the front section was sprayed with Perfect Shimmer illuminating mist. To finish the look, Gilbert and team sprayed Texture Expert Infinium #4 for a strong hold and a hint of shine.
