Mercedes-Benz Spring ’12 Fashion Week NYC: BCBG Max Azria

At the BCBG Max Azria spring show this year at The Theater at Lincoln Center, Neil Moodie for Bumble and bumble created a sporty, 1920s ‘do, reflecting the modern athletic style of the clothing. Azria's collection included a few track suit pieces and a lot of bright colors. Moodie drew inspiration from a "Bond Girl" and the moment when she walks out of the water and runs her fingers through wet hair for a beachy, slicked-back but natural look. He gave hair a soft wave, but did not set the curls, maintaining that natural feel.

To achieve the style, hair was soaked with Prep and Thickening Hairspray and then blow-dried. After using a curling iron to create the mild wave, Moodie applied Bb.Gel at the top and sides and followed with a wide-tooth comb, as if the model had raked her hair back with her fingers. The ends remained dry and the look was finished with Bb.Shine On Finishing Spray. —Kristen Heinzinger
