Natural, effortless, beauty was the theme at the Spring 2012 Rag & Bone fashion show. Guido, the lead hairstylist for Redken, wanted to create his own version of the "mid-nineties British rave culture" with simple yet glamorous styles. To create his simplified look he used only one product, Redken's Satin Wear o2, a lightweight blow dry lotion, followed by a hair dryer and a flat-iron from Sultra. " On the runway thick hair does not look as appealing as it does in real life" says Guido, "control with ease to hair is what most designers desire."With this idea in mind he braided each model's hair to capture a more fine look, then added extensions to create length and not volume. To complete the look he tucked hair under a velcro-like band to create a 'bob' effect.
Revlon's Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman, created a natural, sun-kissed look that is reminisenct of the '70's surfer. " The look is about enhancing one's own natural beauty," says Westman. " I used a rich palette of terracotta, peach, and chocolate brown tones to create a naturally-freckled skin tone." Lead nail technician for Revlon, Jin Soon Choi, used nail enamel in 'Smoky Canvas and hazy' that were natural colors, but with an edge.
