Om Symbol inspired hair, by Philip Pelusi
Inspired by the spirituality that practicing yoga has brought to her own life, designer Vivienne Tam unveiled her dream yoga collection at spring fashion week. Expert yoginis sported the collection while demonstrating a series of movements. Stylist and creator of the Tela Beauty Organics line, Philip Pelusi, kept the hairstyles serene and natural with his "hair-Om" look, drawing inspiration from the Om symbol. "Our mission is to combine health and beauty, that is why we chose to work with Vivienne," says Pelusi. First, to smooth out frizz and boost shine he used Tela Organics Dry Shampoo, then divided the hair into a middle part adding natural texture with Encore Creme and Composer, both styling products from his line. After being swept into a ponytail, remaining panels of hair on each side were pulled backed and wrapped around the ponytail into a figure 8 to emulate the Om symbol.
To create the look of an after workout glow on the yoginis, makeup artist Christopher Michael, applied Origins VitaZing moisturizer, a powder foundation and Halo Effect illuminator to enhance the skin's radiance. Origins Liquid Lip Shimmer in Soft Sizzle was brushed onto lips to add a touch of shine.
