Mercedes-Benz Spring 2012 Fashion Week NYC: Jenny Packham

This morning I headed over to the tents at Lincoln Center bright and early for a look at the hair Leonard Manetti, lead stylist for L'Oréal Professionnel, was creating for Jenny Packham's show. To complement the collection's many shimmering, colorful and flowing gowns, Manetti gave models beautiful blow-outs. First he parted the hair on the right and blow-dried it with a round brush using L'Oréal Professionnel Texture Expert Lift Extreme for volume and bounce, then applied Infininium 3 for hold. Before the models walked the runway, Manetti rubbed a bit of Perfect Shimmer in his hands and applied it to the top of the hair for added shine.

Laura Mercier was also on hand backstage doing the makeup, which she described as a "modern-day Jerry Hall look from the 1970s, but more matte." Mercier applied two different liners to the lip—Laura Mercier Redwood and Very Cherry—and then covered lips in Bing Cherry lip color. Eyes were given a slightly glossy effect with Radiance Primer Secret Finish and lashes were coated with five applications of mascara. Gina Edwards for Essie completed the beauty look by applying Essie California Coral to the nails, a peachy pink shade that she described as "feminine but dominant."
