Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Week: Dannijo

Guests were taken on a journey through nature at the Dannijo presentation, where sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder debuted their Spring/Summer 2015 jewelry collection. Rodney Cutler lead stylist for Redken, created clean and beautiful fishtail braids to compliment the exquisite pieces and the global vibe. “I was inspired by the sisters' passion and vision for this Spring/Summer collection and went about creating a hair look that would complement the amazing styling and theme of travel. Similar to the rustic yet picturesque staging of the presentation, the hair brought to life a natural, Mongolian tribal feel with a fishtail that journeyed on to a polished pony.”

Cutler started the process by styling dry, straightened hair. He then pulled it back into a sleek ponytail using a fine bristle brush and used thin elastic to secure. He worked a dime to quarter size dollop of Redken Velvet Gelatine 07 into the first 4-5 inches of hair below the ponytail and weaved into a tight, smooth fishtail braid. After braiding this portion of the hair, he then secured it with an additional hair tie and allowed the bottom of the hair to hang.Cutler used a 1-2” flat iron to straighten the unbraided hair for a sleek ponytail and finished with Redken Fashion Work 12 – Versatile Working Spray to tackle any flyaways.

Yadim, the newly appointed Global Makeup Artist for Maybelline, created a tribal story where the eyes took center stage. Skin was fresh and dewy skin while lips were kept bare, with just a touch of concealer.  For the eyes he applied Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Brash Blue, a vibrant color that highlighted the blue gems within the collection.
