Cutler Salons has announced that Bumble and bumble founder (and Vidal Sassoon: The Movie producer) Michael Gordon will be joining the company as a partner. Gordon will work alongside his former protege Rodney Cutler to help grow the Cutler business and brand. “Rodney has always been self-motivated and I know from working with him before that he has a great attitude," Gordon says. "There aren’t a lot of preeminent salons out there. In Rodney’s case, he has a fantastic model and there is huge potential for growth and opportunity to further shape them.”
“Michael sees how things are, and we can do better," Cutler says. “It’s incredible to have the opportunity to partner with the creator of what I believe to be the most influential hair salon in America, and also the person who changed my life by when I first came from Australia. I feel we are primed to raise the bar in the industry. We are pulling ourselves apart and putting us back together, updating our salons, graphics, strengthening the team and helping focus on our skills, our strengths and weaknesses.”
On key priority for Gordon and his team will be to build out Cutler's current education platform. "We'll be creating more classes that are more specific, more detailed and more rigorous,” Gordon says. “We plan to make a real commitment to educating salon professionals.”
