Fascinators, those oft-bejeweled or feathered little hatlettes, have become frequent phenomena on fashion runways from Paris to Beijing. Models in spring 2013 shows by Giorgio Armani, David Jones, Vivienne Westwood and Ion Fiz were accessorized with fascinators, whose designs ranged from classic to whimsical. The trend is perhaps a nod to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, familiarly known as Kate Middleton, who has been seen sporting fascinators at public appearances and state functions ever since becoming Britain’s newest royal and fashion figure. —K.F.
