Peter Gray Styles Michelle Williams for the Met Ball

We just loved Michelle Williams' elegant look at the annual Met Ball, held on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Perfectly complementing her black Miu Miu gown accented with metallic swallows and Fred Leighton jewelry, Williams' cropped platinum locks were styled by Peter Gray for Moroccanoil.

“The dress was so beautiful with those bronzes and golds that I wanted to reflect that in her hair," Gray says. "I didn’t want it to look styled or even blow-dried, so I created the whole effect on freshly shampooed and naturally dried hair. My inspiration was a modern-day Jean Seberg with a Breathless nuance, but with a soft, sexy and defined texture.”

After trimming Williams' hair, Gray applied a bit of Moroccanoil Light, ideal for fine hair, with his fingers to the root areas of the hair to create volume and texture and enhance color vibrancy. Next he lightly combed the back of the head to create a flat shape, then ruffled the hair all over for movement, finger-shaping the entire style.
