Power Trip

Fresh, raw, youthful looks are the centerpiece of Stage, a new body of work from Australian salon Cast’s Artistic Team members Lucy Cardoza and Freda Rossidis. The collection was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s (YSL) cigarette pantsuit prevalent in the 1960s. According to Cardoza, who is also the salon manager, YSL completely changed women’s fashion by creating masculine looks, such as the “Le Smoking” tuxedo suit, during the rise of feminism. These strong, yet feminine hairstyles are right in sync with the overall message. “They are strikingly stunning street looks offset with intricate, flattering color,” says Cast Artistic Director Rossidis. —Desiree Cole >
