Celebrity stylists Creighton Bowman and Amoy Pitters turn to René Furterer’s Vegetal Styling system when crafting old Hollywood hair looks with a modern twist for their clients. All products from the system boast of Cakile extract to help hydrate and protect the tresses for healthy hairstyling and are ideal for recreating the iconic ‘dos that are sure to be a popular trend this holiday season.

To create a Grace Kelly-inspired chignon, Bowman first prepped the hair for an elegant, textured style with René Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo to achieve extra volume. Next, he parted the tresses into three sections and clipped the two upper sections away while securing the lower section into a ponytail above the nape of the neck. He then unclipped the top sections and backcombed the hair one section at a time, starting with the section at the back of the head. Bowman wrapped the ends of the back section around the ponytail, blending the two together to create the chignon, before applying René Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray. After lightly backcombing the front section then brushing it back, Bowman worked the ends into the chignon and pinned the strands in place. Vegetal Styling Modeling Paste was used to smooth flyaways and Finishing Spray was misted over the look for long-lasting hold.
To style a sophisticated red carpet updo reminiscent of classic Hollywood glamour, Pitters started by sectioning the hair into two parts and tying the lower half into a high ponytail with an elastic band. She created a chignon with the ponytail and secured it with pins. Next, Pitters backcombed the top half of the hair for volume and height. She then gathered the section around the crown of the head and twisted the tresses before wrapping them around the chignon and pinning in place. Pitters worked a small amount of Styling Wax into the ‘do to control flyaways and spritzed Glossing Spray all over for a healthy shine.
