Following food and shopping was a warm welcome by Repêchage CEO and Founder Lydia Sarfati, who introduced the first key note speaker, Deborah Carver, Founder and CEO of Creative Age Publications, for her presentation “Consumer Trends in Beauty and Spa.”  Carver’s presentation highlighted the need for salons/spas to focus on catering to millennials, who are currently projected to take over babyboomers. Carver offered attendees advice on what they can do to win over millennials as clients, and capture this market that “represents the future.”

Dori Soukup, President and CEO of InSPAration Management, a firm specializing in spa and salon business development then presented “Economical Marketing Strategies," offering advice on how to cost-efficiently lead traffic to the spa and maximize capacity. Strategies on how to create promotional marketing tools, utilize social media, practice internet marketing and in-spa marketing, and take advantage of spa events were amongst those covered by Soukup.

Last but not least, Repêchage CEO and Founder Lydia Sarfati took the stage for "Beauty Trends and Creating the Ultimate Service Experience.” Before discussing trends for 2016, Sarfati touched on fads that have made their way into the skin care industry this year. Spa treatments such as gold facials, vampire facials, and DNA-based skin care products, and how effective these treatments/products are for the skin, were amongst a few discussed by Sarfati. Sarfati then highlighted the “real” trends for 2016, including: facials, multi-layering, pore-cleansing, medial alliance, custom body treatments, specialty products, advanced wax formulations and treatment, hypersensitive skin, environmental protection, digital invasion, and building a connection with clients. Sarfati expanded on the last idea, making note to attendees how important it is to truly build a connection with clients and create the ultimate service experience. As Sarfati recommended, spas must cater to the VIP in everyone, accommodate every client, be personable, and go above and beyond for clients. To get there, Sarfati highlighted the importance of assembling a great staff, having a healthy-work life balance, and providing the opportunity for continuing education for the staff as well.

With education being at the core of Lydia Sarfati's values,Repêchage will continue to provide opportunities for beauty professionals to come together and learn from one another! Save the date for the Repêchage Annual International Conference event to be held on May 2, 2016!
